Villa in Parma, Italy

This villa, historically known as Villa Pallavicini, is nestled among the hills in the charming town of Langhirano, about 10 km from Parma. The town of Langhirano is known all over the world as the home of Prosciutto di Parma. The production of this famous prosciutto reaches about 20 million a year with sales topping out at 2,000,000 Euros annually.

The history of the villa dates back to 1600 with the Boscoli Counts, and has always been owned by noble families. This seventeenth century villa, which has been home to many European aristocratic families over the centuries, has been meticulously restored to its splendid past all while maintaining its old-world charm. The villa was built in the early years of the seventeenth century by the Boscoli Counts who were the feudatory landowners and marquis of Ravarano. In the second half of the eighteenth century the entire estate fell into the hands of a noble French family. The estate then took on a new name thanks to its new owners as it was intended to be a hunting retreat and was called Casino Le Brun. Napoleon Bonaparte's wife and Duchess of Parma, Marie Louise, gave the house to the elderly city council member of Parma and Lord Chamberlain of the Court, the Marquis Adalberto Pallavicini. He would later bring even more glory to the name of the villa and make it one of the most beautiful ones of Parma at the time. Once the Duchess, Marie Louise and later the Pallavicinis died off, the estate was then bought by Count Baracco at the end of the nineteenth century. He lost ownership of the villa in 1910 when it was later purchased by the Zileri Dalverme Counts, who dwelt there until 2000. Over the course of several centuries the villa has seen a variety of owners who have brought with them their own modifications and remodeling to the architecture. Nevertheless, the majestic elegance that distinguishes Villa Pallavicini from the rest, can still be found intact in its interior, in the large, beautifully decorated rooms.

p>The villa sits at the heart of an oasis of peacefulness and prestige with the famous Torrachiara Castle as its charming backdrop, all in a refined and welcoming atmosphere.
