It breaks our hearts that the problem of orphan children is so acute in Russia. It breaks our hearts even more that there is so little we can do. These children need a loving family, and nothing else can replace it. However, this doesn’t mean that we should stay away and do nothing. Even if it’s a drop in an ocean, we must make an effort and try to make a difference in the lives of these orphan children. That is how we made a decision to get involved with Orphanage House of Kirov town, Kaluga region.
Every month we visit the children with gifts and all our love. They have a very nice home and a wonderful mother – a director of the home, Maria Alexandrovna Suhorukova – alone for sixty of them. They have clothing, food, toys – they are fortunate with this. They have each other; many of them in the orphanage are brothers and sisters. They are missing the most important thing - they don’t have much love and not much of the future.
With goodwill and effort, some things can be improved. The children need computers and computer programs for their education. They need sport equipment for their healthy development. They need new bathrooms and many small or large household items. They would be so happy to travel. But most of all - they need love and attention. They need someone to know them by name and visit them regularly.
We are making every effort possible to help these children. Many of our friends and clients do, too. And we will be so delighted if you joined us. Please come with us to the orphanage to play with the kids and give them a hug. If that’s too much of a commitment, you are welcome to donate any gifts, toys or children clothes, which we will take to them on your behalf. If you or your firm can contribute in any way, please let us know. The children will appreciate it greatly! If you just prefer to donate money, you can do it by transferring it directly to the following Orphanage's bank account.
