Moving to a new country and finding a new apartment usually frigthen people. When I learned that I will move to Moscow with my husband, I also felt the same way. After several years of renting an apartment in Moscow I decided to take the plunge and buy an apartment. I contacted Evans because I was impressed by the information provided on their website and they listed plenty of apartments in my price range. I wanted to take a minute to call out the truly outstanding service I received from Marina Andreeva over the last week. When surfing the Evans website I was surprised to find Marina, whom I had lost contact with, but I was not surprised to find that she had been the leading broker for the last 2 years. When I met Marina in 1996 she left a strong impression as a hard-working and 'sympateechnaya' woman who did what it took to get the job done, and it was easy to imagine that, with 10 years experience, she would be one of the best at what she does. I wanted to highlight what really 'stood out' for me: · The pre-work was thorough - including a round of feedback on preliminary possibilities to enable Marina to re-connect with my preferences · The first day was jam-packed, viewing 12 locations and giving me an excellent perspective of the market 1st thing in the week · Marina had the 'gumption' (sorry for the tough word - but worth looking up!) to show an apartment that had already been reduced by -40% and yet was still +20% versus my budget... · Marina showed perfect integrity and honesty in telling me directly (in the middle of the week, when we were not sure if the negotiations would succeed) of having forgotten one follow-up on my 2nd choice apartment, reminding me that I was working with someone I could really trust · Marina was very skilled in the negotiations. Though the Landlord speaks very good English, and often spoke directly with me, we absolutely would NOT have had an agreement without Marina's guidance. · Marina was willing to work 2 nights past 2am. On the second night she said, cheerily, "We'll stay until 5am if needed, no problem." Fortunately 3:10 was enough. · One reason we worked so late was a need to create a fairly unique contract, and for Marina to be translating the English agreements into Russian. Marina apologized that she was not very skilled at translation, so I had my wife - a professional translator- check the work. In 12 pages of text my wife found just 3 or 4 'optional' improvements, but no mistakes, on work that was done at the end of 16 hour workdays... I wanted you to know that, despite being a relatively demanding person, I truly cannot think of anything more that I could have asked for in a real estate agent, and I am so glad that Marina has found a place where her talents and hard-work are able to make such a difference.

I would like to thanks Evans, and Natalia Koroleva in particular, with helping me to find an apartment that was suitable for the family, within budget, on the desired location and even within the short time I needed one. When Evans asked me about my wishes concerning the flat I was looking for in Moscow, I summed up my needs in a few words: I wanted a furnished and quiet apartment, full of light, with a nice view and a good location. After sending me a list of available flats, Inga Zurabiani of Evans picked me up at my hotel, and in 2 hours we visited three apartments located in high buildings in the center of Moscow, with nice views on the White House, the Kremlin and Moscow’s skyline. Very quickly I understood that I could trust in Evans’ expertise: the flats exactly answered to my needs. The furniture was above what I had initially expected, and I was impressed by the air conditioning in every flat, as by the home cinema and the Jacuzzi in one of them. Finally, after considering it would be no use to ask to look for other apartments through another property company, I asked Evans to do what was necessary to complete the furniture (new microwave, one more table, more chairs…) in the most convenient of the flats. Very professionally, on a daily basis Inga emailed me about the improvements, and within a week everything was accomplished, which enabled me to concentrate on my work only and not on the usual problems raised by expatriation. Two days before signing it, Inga sent me a copy of the contract, and a few days after I moved in and could start enjoying the sunrise above the Moscva River. In March of this year I bought a flat in Moscow through Svetlana of the Evans Real Estate Company, Moscow. Svetlana is a pleasure to work with. Svetlana manages to "De-mystify" what otherwise would be a nightmare obstacle course in Russian Bureaucracy. My role was very simple. Somewhere to call home

Finding a home in any country including your own always makes for interesting times. If you add the typical Russian ingredients to that; severe winters, an initially incomprehensible alphabet and language and bewilderingly different types of housing and areas available, the prospect is even more daunting. Evans are professional, listen to what you want and do their utmost to get it. But most importantly, it’s the personal interest they take in their clients ranging from fixing minor problems to acting as translator between their clients and landlords throughout the rental period that gives them the competitive edge.

Evans has gone the distance in finding me a place to live. I had very difficult requirements to fulfill and they worked and worked until they found the correct place for my wife and I. It did not end there. They continue to work to ensure that all my requirements are met and suppported. I anticipate that they will support me with any concerns I may have for the term of my lease. Investor's Perspective

At the moment, I am in the midst of completing renovation on an apartment, which I have purchased for investment. The people, which I am working with at Evans (Anya Levitova and others) have provided to me a full cycle solution from buying to renovating (negotiations with contractors, architects, navigating legal and regulatory issues) and selling/renting the apartment upon completion. Coming into the project I was fearing the worst - significant delays and budget overruns. Although some of this is inevitable for such a project, Evans has been attentive and responsive throughout the entire process of buying and renovating the apartment. Due to their expert advice, attention to all important details, they have managed to save me money (on simple things like notary fees to more complex things like suggesting alternative solutions), and also my time and my nerves. I think Evans has fantastic professionals and will use them for future real estate projects.

Movement to Terra Incognita

Dear Evans people, I would like to thank you for all the support you gave to me and my family when moving to Moscow. This was for me the first international movement and as such this was connected with many insecurities - new job, new boss, new team, movement itself. As a Czech and marketing person used to work with agencies a lot, I am always a bit sceptical and carefull when dealing with new supplier. It was even more difficult than usual to evaluate if Evans had done a good job when reccomending certain locations, as I was complete stranger to the city of Moscow in that time.
