We would like to thank everyone who supported Elena Adamyants in her fight with cancer. Here is a short update on how Lena is doing.
On September 1st, 2011 Elena underwent the planned bone marrow transplant at the National Cancer Institute in Washington, DC. It takes over three months for the doctors to see whether the transplant was successful, but we all hope for the best. You can follow Lena’s daily posts (when possible) on Facebook.
You help and generosity, devotion of friends and family helped Lena to get to Washington and continue to fight with leukemia every day. Her mother, her wonderful kids are with her, so she is surrounded by love and caring.
Even though the transplant and associated medical treatment is free to Elena thanks to her participation in the clinical trial program, her living expenses are not covered, so the money already collected and any future contributions are enabling Elena to live and fight the terrible disease while not being able to work and not having any income. Without your help, none of this would be possible.
